1. What is organic?

Organic products can be recognized by the EKO-quality mark. The products are cultivated without artificial fertilizer and (poisonous) chemical pesticides, and they do not include synthetic smell, colouring or flavouring agents or preservatives. The organic agriculture standards are based on the conservation of the environment, nature, and landscape as well as the well-being of animals. These norms apply throughout the entire European Union. Skal, the control-organization designated by the Dutch government, inspects organic products.
