6. Who checks whether the organic vegetables that I buy at the supermarket have actually been cultivated organically?

Skal inspects the production, processing and sales. Skal is an organization that has been appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture to perform these inspections in the Netherlands. Any company, which complies with the regulations for organic agriculture and is inspected by Skal, receives a certificate for organic production. Companies that are certified are checked regularly so you can be sure that the products you buy are genuinely organic. Supermarkets are represented in Skal’s Board of Advice. Visit: www.skal.nl
