Oerlemans Foods supports sustainability in a wide sense.

Carbon footprint
The aim to use as little fuel as possible on as few kilometres as possible, while transporting as many kilos of vegetables per trip as possible is the reason why Oerlemans' growers are located as closely to the production sites as possible.

Production
Oerlemans produces according to a protocol to minimise its environmental burden. In practice this means:
• generating as little ambient noise as possible
• using specially selected cleaning products
• minimising the risk of odours spreading


Water
Our sites in Broekhuizervorst and Waalwijk, the Netherlands, have modern water purification plants that ensure that only clean water is discharged into the public sewers.

Relationships
Our cultivation supervisors have longstanding relationships with our growers, enabling Oerlemans to give cultivation advice to achieve sustainable production.
The international sowing and harvesting schedules are coordinated by our cultivation supervisors in consultation with the production planning team. This enables us to process high-quality fresh materials into the best freshly frozen products all year round.
